All of us got day off today, so we went to Mekong delta together!!!!!! Joining the same tour agent as the one I went to Can Gio.
Our first spot is Quang Duc pagoda, which is the biggest I have ever been to. Those statues are enomorous!! omg. Luckily, We got a intern from china and he explained to us what do they stand for. i think there is one for happiness and one for wealth. But i don’t know which is which. This is the ‘beautiful-iest’ pagoda in hcmc i guess. They got a unique architecture with antique design in the inner part.
After that, we went to take a ferry to cross the mekong delta. Mekong river is the 12th longest river in the world and runs through many place in Asia, such as Laos, Cambodia. The tour guide told us that we can actually counter current swim to China.
We got off at different spot and visited different places. We arrived and showed us what water coconut is. Water coconut is something grows in water and they are brown in colour. They are 4x bigger than your head and looks like a bomb. They also have a small factory showing us how coconut candies are made. Step by step, from heating, flavouring to packaging. I bought 2 durian flavour for my mum! (:
We had a chance to feed the crocodile, but you need to pay for it. They moved super slow, but when they saw the food, all of the sudden, BYE FOOD! I walked across a bridge which is built by sugarcane. Quite scary actually, cause its not that stable.
The last thing we did was travelling around in the Vietnam traditionally fishing boat, which is quite fun. We gave tips to the fishermen afterwards. Then we headed back to ben thanh.
The trip was nice. One thing that made us really disappointed is the tour guide kept explaining things in vietnamese. We had 3 vietnamese from hanoi and around 20 foreigners in our group. However, for most of the time, he spoke in vietnamese and all of us had no idea what he was talking about.
